Apple and Celery Slaw

Serves about 4 to 5

Ingredients

  • Celery sticks 5 sliced and shaved thinly

  • Granny smith apple or any tart apple available 1 medium – thin straws

  • Pecans or walnuts chopped- 4 tbsp

  • Cranberries dried – 4 tbsp

  • Mayo – 2 tbsp

  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

  • Maple syrup – 1 tbsp

  • Salt

Method

  1. In a skillet, add the sugar and chopped pecans/walnuts and toast them till the sugar starts to caramelize. Set aside

  2. In a bowl, toss celery and apple along with other ingredients and mix them well

  3. Adjust seasoning if needed. The slaw tastes better if you let it sit for about 30 minutes

  4. You could serve this with a side of protein like pan-fried pork chops or use it as a salad
