Preparation Time 20 minutes

Bake Time 20 to 25 minutes

Makes about 16 to 18 medium sized biscuits

Ingredients

  • AP Flour 2 cups

  • Baking Powder 1 1/2 tbsp

  • Sugar 1 tbsp

  • Salt 1/4 tsp

  • Garlic Powder 1 tsp

  • Old Bay Seasoning 1 tsp

  • Unsalted Butter, cut into small chunks, 1/2 cup or 1 stick + 1/4 cup melted butter

  • Milk 1 cup

  • Grated Cheddar Cheese 1 1/2 cup

  • Freshly chopped Parsley 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350F. Position the oven rack in the upper third of the oven. Either use a silicon mat or lightly brush some oil on a large baking sheet pan.

  2. In a Kitchen-aid using the paddle attachment, mix the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sugar and salt. Gradually add the cubed butter and continue until the butter is nicely combined and the mixture resembles sand like.

  3. Now add the cheese and milk, and mix until the mixture is moistened and is dough like.

  4. Take out the dough onto a clean surface and gently knead until the dough comes together. Do not overwork the dough or the biscuits will be tough.

  5. Using an ice-cream scooper, drop dough on the baking sheet, about 2 inches apart and bake until golden, about 20 to 25 minutes.

  6. Meanwhile, melt the remaining 1/4 cup butter in the microwave. Add the chopped parsley and mix well. Brush the biscuits with the parsley butter and serve warm.
